I hear many folks say "I haven't heard from God yet." Sometimes we simply have to live the day! As we go through the day, we have to expect God to show up and simply be there! Like with Elijah, He doesn't always show up in a majestic way, but in the simple things in life. We simply are not living in expectation and we miss Him!
Then He said, “Go out, and stand on the mountain before the Lord.” And behold, the Lord passed by, and a great and strong wind tore into the mountains and broke the rocks in pieces before the Lord, but the Lord was not in the wind; and after the wind an earthquake, but the Lord was not in the earthquake; and after the earthquake a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire; and after the fire a still small voice. So it was, when Elijah heard it, that he wrapped his face in his mantle and went out and stood in the entrance of the cave. Suddenly a voice came to him, and said, “What are you doing here, Elijah?” (1 Kings 19:11-13)"In the Beginning", the daily REMINDER from The Carroll Outreach Mission (formerly The Sparrows' Nest or TSN), is intended to jump start your day with the Lord. The Bible opens up with , "In the beginning, God..." It is our prayer that you will use this tool to begin or "restart" your day with the Lord! Only what we do for Him will last in the end!

Living in expectation
Elijah wanted God to act in some huge tremendous God-like way that He nearly missed the whisper. God is always present. He is not sleeping on us. We are simply not living in expectation. So let's live today expecting God to be God as we go about our day and don't miss the whispers . . . just in case he decides not to roar!
