Are we ever ready?

Then the scribes and Pharisees brought to Him a woman caught in adultery. And when they had set her in the midst, they said to Him, “Teacher, this woman was caught in adultery, in the very act. Now Moses, in the law, commanded us that such should be stoned. But what do You say?” This they said, testing Him, that they might have something of which to accuse Him. But Jesus stooped down and wrote on the ground with His finger, as though He did not hear.  So when they continued asking Him, He raised Himself up and said to them, “He who is without sin among you, let him throw a stone at her first.” And again He stooped down and wrote on the ground. Then those who heard it, being convicted by their conscience, went out one by one, beginning with the oldest even to the last. And Jesus was left alone, and the woman standing in the midst. When Jesus had raised Himself up and saw no one but the woman, He said to her, “Woman, where are those accusers of yours? Has no one condemned you?” She said, “No one, Lord.” And Jesus said to her, “Neither do I condemn you; go and sin no more.”

Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, “I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.” (John 8:3-12)

Are we ever ready to accept Jesus? Are we ever good enough? When is the right time to ask Him to save us?

The answer is. . . Never and right nowThe woman caught in adultery was exposed to Jesus in the middle of her sin, yet she spoke with Him and Jesus forgave her. The leaders of the Temple were too caught . . . yet they walked away still in sin.

Today is the day . . . ask Jesus to save you!

The GOOD life?

Everyone wants a good life, right? Sure, why not? But what is good? A better questions might be, "What is good enough?" We all want good health, a good family, a good job, etc. When Jesus was addressed as "good teacher" however, He said that no one was good but God!

Now as He was going out on the road, one came running, knelt before Him, and asked Him, “Good Teacher, what shall I do that I may inherit eternal life?”
So Jesus said to him, “Why do you call Me good? No one is good but One, that is, God. (Mark 10:17-18)

So in actuality, if we really want the good life, we must become more like Jesus. We must want the things He wants and do the things He did. We must get to know Him better in order to be better! We must love one another, care for one another, serve one another and sacrifice for one another.

To have the good life, our life must not be about you or me, but others!

Relying upon God and all He supplies

When we are most challenged, we often try to work on our own. It's when we fail that we call on God and others. What if we turned to God first? What if we sought Him first rather than our own strengths and abilities?

Satan will try every angle and use anything he can to trip us up . . . even our friends! He will have us believe we can do it alone with our own training and abilities. Yet we must always remember, though we may be trained, though we may be experienced, though we may have the best group of co-workers, teammates, friends or family, we still need God!

We need to resist the devils ploys. At times we flee his attempts to throw us off. Other times we have to come face to face with trials and resist with all our resources . . . relying upon God and all He supplies. . . His Word, His promises, and yes, His people!

Today, I am pleading with God for the young people in my life . . . our children, grandchildren, and all the young people in our classroom and in our coaching ministry. I am pleading the blood of Jesus over them and asking the Lord to save the lost and strengthen the saved. Lord, remove the lies and supply Your Truths.

I am relying upon God and all He supplies!

For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ, and being ready to punish all disobedience when your obedience is fulfilled.    (2 Corinthians 10: 4-6)

Truly God...truly man
