Livin' in eternity . . . what is your zip code?

Ever feel strange or out of place? Have you ever felt like you do not belong . . . something weird about the place where you are? Welcome to the CHRISTian life! This is the norm for us . . . or should be! We should be livin' in eternity now!

Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit. (Galatians 5:24-25)

Do you know your zip code? Are you identified by where you live? Most of us are when it comes to car insurance, home loans, health insurance, life insurance and more. Certain neighborhoods and even zip codes are considered high risk/low risk. Yet with Christ, we are not seen as a zip code, but a a Spirit-filled child of God.

And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit. (2 Corinthians 3:18)

God is transforming us daily into His image so we will be ready when we get home. So, in the mean time, let's live like we are already there. Identify with eternity. Who knows, we may even get some to follow us home!

Now that Thanksgiving is over . . .

Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18)

Ok, so Thanksgiving is over. All the food has become stale leftovers. The only thing left may be the turkey bones and some cranberry sauce! All the relatives have gone home. Memories have been made . . . some good and some not so good. So, now that Thanksgiving is over, what do we do?

Well, to Paul, it was simple . . . keep thanking God for everything! It would be what Jesus would have us to do!

Thanksgiving is not just a day or a weekend celebration. For the CHRISTian, every day is a day of giving thanks . . . if nothing else than for our eternal security in Christ!

So as we look back, of course thank God for the days off, the relatives and friends, and oh yes, for the food! But more than that, keep thanking God for today and the eternity to come!

Sharing Christ- Part III . . . . "WHY should I share Christ"?

"WHY should I share Christ"? The better question is "Why would I not share Christ"?

Jesus went through all the towns and villages, teaching in their synagogues, proclaiming the good news of the kingdom and healing every disease and sickness. When He saw the crowds, He had compassion on them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. Then He said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into His harvest field.” (Matthew 9:35-38)

Imagine a birthday or CHRISTmas morning when you see a beautifully wrapped gift with your name on it. You can pretty much figure out what it is just by looking. It must be those brand new Jordans or the new Playstation. No, it's the Oculus Quest! But rather than opening up the package and using the gift, you leave it in the box unwrapped and unused for months . . . perhaps years. You may never open up the gift!

So, why should we share Christ? He is the greatest given ever given! Once we have received Him, we are commanded to go and make more disciples (Matthew 28:18-20). Why would we not share Christ, when He invites everyone to know Him and receive His free gift of eternal life?  Why also, would we disobey our Savior and Lord . . . if we call Him Lord?

Why indeed?

Throwback Thursday

Throwback Thursday . . . Let's go waaayyy back!
You cannot go further back than God! He was in the past before there was even a present, because He is eternal. We as finite human beings just cannot grasp that, we just have to believe it. It is the only way this world can make any sense. God has all the answers to the questions we seek. Before there was anything, there was God.

The really cool thing is that Jesus wants us to experience this timelessness with Him in eternity. Read this:

Father, I desire that they also, whom You have given to Me [as Your gift to Me], may be with Me where I am, so that they may see My glory which You have given Me, because You loved Me before the foundation of the world. (John 17:24)

Imagine . . . one day we will be timeless in eternity! Now that's going way back. Talk about a throwback!!!

Ever wonder what eternity will be like for the CHRISTian?

“See, I will create new heavens and a new earth. The former things will not be remembered, nor will they come to mind. (Isaiah 65:17)

Ever wonder what eternity will be like for the CHRISTian? I know I do! The words above provide a glimpse from the prophet Isaiah. Not only will we not experience the kinds of horrible things we do in the present world . . . we won't even remember them . . . even if we try!

Wow . . . . . that is good news indeed! Not only will be living a real life in a real world, but there will be no mention of the evils we have experienced in this life! Not a thought.

I am looking forward to it . . . what about you?

Truly God...truly man
