Godly sorrow leads to repentance and salvation!

Now I rejoice, not that you were made sorry, but that your sorrow led to repentance. For you were made sorry in a godly manner, that you might suffer loss from us in nothing.  For godly sorrow produces repentance leading to salvation, not to be regretted; but the sorrow of the world produces death For observe this very thing, that you sorrowed in a godly manner: What diligence it produced in you, what clearing of yourselves, what indignation, what fear, what vehement desire, what zeal, what vindication! In all things you proved yourselves to be clear in this matter. (2 Corinthians 7:9-11)

Repentance involves recognizing that you have thought wrongly in the past and determining to think rightly in the future. The repentant person has “second thoughts” about the mindset he formerly embraced. There is a change of disposition and a new way of thinking about God, about sin, about holiness, and about doing God’s will. True repentance is prompted by “godly sorrow,” and it “leads to salvation”.

Many today are embracing sin as acceptable to God! God hates sin! Jesus suffered and died for our sin! While we embrace sinners and share the love of Christ with them, it is to have them to embrace the cross of Jesus and repent of sin!

We cannot continue sinning without the Godly sorrow. There must be guilt! There must be shame! There must be repentance....turning away....a change of thinking!

We cannot dummy-down the Truth no matter what the politically correct opinion is today!!!
