So on a set day Herod, arrayed in royal apparel, sat on his throne and gave an oration to them. And the people kept shouting, “The voice of a god and not of a man!” Then immediately an angel of the Lord struck him, because he did not give glory to God. And he was eaten by worms and died.(Acts 12:21-23)Peter had been arrested after John's brother James had been executed by Herod. Hero's believed he was now a rather popular king among the Jews. . . . and he was! However, Peter had been released by the Lord's angel (Acts 12:7) without anyone noticing! Even Peter was astonished!
Later, Herod was speaking in Caesarea and the people were so impressed that they related him to a god! ( Acts 12:22) Herod did not deny it! ...God then acted and an angel struck him dead!
God WILL eventually have His way. Even though society, and government in particular, is acting a bit crazy, as we navigate through each with frustration at times, take solace that God is still in control. He is longsuffering . . . . with us and even with government officials!
So with this Covid-19 . . . . with regulations going back and forth from state-to-state . . . . social practices being increased and reduced . . . . follow God and His guidelines above all regulations!
God over man . . .ALWAYS!
