there is no authority except from God,

Let every soul be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and the authorities that exist are appointed by God. Therefore whoever resists the authority resists the ordinance of God, and those who resist will bring judgment on themselves.  For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to evil. Do you want to be unafraid of the authority? Do what is good, and you will have praise from the same.  For he is God’s minister to you for good. But if you do evil, be afraid; for he does not bear the sword in vain; for he is God’s minister, an avenger to execute wrath on him who practices evil. Therefore you must be subject, not only because of wrath but also for conscience’ sake. (Romans 13:1-5)
Many today are a bit uneasy with all the social distancing, shelter in place, and restrictive travel rules and regulation being enacted by local and federal government. However, if we read the scriptures, we see that the authorities are appointed by God for our good, not evil intent!

As we obey God by obeying the law, we are protected and it will be well with us. As long as we are not disobeying God while obeying the law, God is pleased. Once we step out against the law, having large gatherings, going out in public unnecessarily, and then like, we run the risk of harm, physically and legally!

Rules have been put into affect for our protection. We can still purchase what we need (even on line with no contact!). We can still attend school and receive a quality education. We can still worship among believers within the home (as in the Book of Acts) and via internet connections. We can video chat, email, talk on the phone and exchange conversations via social media.

So as we are distant, draw near to God and others in unique ways we never really considered before. With all the time we have, build relationships! Start with God, family, and branch out, albeit in a safe manner. 😇
