Sing praise to the Lord, you saints of His, And give thanks at the remembrance of His holy name for His anger is but for a moment, His favor is for life; Weeping may endure for a night, But joy comes in the morning. . . . .
You have turned for me my mourning into dancing; You have put off my sackcloth and clothed me with gladness, To the end that my glory may sing praise to You and not be silent.O Lord my God, I will give thanks to You forever. (Psalm 30:4-5,11-12)The psalmist knew pain and loss as we are experiencing. Yet he also knew that god does not allow pain for ever. As we reflect upon His goodness and the better things of life, we see His hand at work.
He was special . . . .
Death is hard to explain, but for the believer it is easier to understand. It is an appointment we all must face. No one but God knows when it will occur. God numbers our days at birth. (Psalm 139:16) Our task is to live out every day as if it was our last, to bring glory to God!
Do not spend time wasting time. Live to the fullest. Enjoy all God has granted. Love God. Love people. Let it be said of us that we lived fully for God and to allow others to know Him through us.
Remember the good times. Remember the smiles and laughter. Think of how God got everyone through the disappointments . . . the losses, the failures. Recall the victories, the touchdowns, the sacks, the unexpected A's on a test or quiz . . . the good times in and out of class. And remember, none of us are perfect but we know a perfect God Who gracefully forgives us if we ask!
Do you know Him? Do not harden your hearts today, but rejoice in knowing there is a promise ahead for all who believe! Trust Jesus today! Invite Him in . . .
If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sin and cleanse us from all unrighteousness (sin). 1 John 1:9
