LORD SAVE US . . .HOSANNA! What a great welcome for Jesus into the city. However, the popularity will fade . . .
A great welcome for a king . . .King Jesus riding into Jerusalem with shouts of "Save us!" Yet a week later they would be shouting, "Crucify Him!"Then they brought the colt to Jesus and threw their clothes on it, and He sat on it. And many spread their clothes on the road, and others cut down leafy branches from the trees and spread them on the road. Then those who went before and those who followed cried out, saying: “Hosanna!‘ Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!’ Blessed is the kingdom of our father David that comes in the name of the Lord! Hosanna in the highest!” And Jesus went into Jerusalem and into the temple. (Mark 11:7-11)
What irony! Here today, worldwide, many are acknowledging God if not calling upon Him to, "Save us!" That's a good thing . . . a real good thing, because we need Jesus! We need saving, from illness and from sin!
But what will be the shouts when it is all over? Will it be Praise God! or praise the government, scientists and doctors?
Something to think about as we approach Palm SONday . . . . CHRISTIans still celebrate!!!!
