dangerously close

Send me . . . Use me . . . Take me . . . Have Your way with me! I prayed that prayer after hearing Isaiah 6:8 twenty-some years ago and have been praying it once again, very intently lately. Sadly, I have once again become comfortable . . . at ease . . . close to God, yes, but not dangerously close!

Then one of the seraphim flew to me, having in his hand a live coal which he had taken with the tongs from the altar. And he touched my mouth with it, and said:“Behold, this has touched your lips; your iniquity is taken away, and your sin purged.” Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying: “Whom shall I send, and who will go for Us?” Then I said, “Here am I! Send me.”(Isaiah 6:6-8)
The song said "Don't push me 'cause I 'm close to the edge", but now I say God "Push me" . . . where You want me to go and what You want me to say  . . . over the edge if you would, of safety! I trust You to have Your way and others will see You at work!
He who loves his life will lose it, and he who hates his life in this world will keep it for eternal life. If anyone serves Me, let him follow Me; and where I am, there My servant will be also. If anyone serves Me, him My Father will honor. (John 12:25-26)

I must stop thinking as this world and renew my heart and mind once again! It is amazing how God is taking me back to the basic verses I first heard:
beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service.  And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.(Romans 12:1-2)
Do you want to be dangerously close to Jesus?
