challenging prayers

Safety . . . Blessings . . . Success . . . .Protection  . . . or . . . Surrender  . . . Brokenness . . . Humility? What do our prayers resemble? Warm and cozy or risky and dangerous? We all wish for and want to pray the challenging prayers yet we fear the consequences! "Thy will be done" is challenging and dangerous to say the least! Sacrifice, brokenness, pouring out is a life lived for Christ and others.

Then Jesus said to His disciples, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me. For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it. For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul?(Matthew 16:24-26)
 The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit, a broken and a contrite heart—These, O God, You will not despise.
(Psalm 51:17)
Jesus was literally broken for us. He prayed for His Father's will to be done in John 17. Yes, praying His will is dangerous and challenging, but biblical!

Do we not want what God wants for us?
