NOT Just on SONday

Do good in Your good pleasure to Zion;

Zion....or Mount Zion or Sion or Mount Sion is defined as a hill in eastern Jerusalem, Israel. Originally the stronghold of Jerusalem, Zion was conquered by David and in ancient times was the site of the Jewish Temple. It is now referred to as the Jewish people, Israel, the Jewish homeland that is symbolic of Judaism or of Jewish national aspiration and the ideal nation or society envisaged by Judaism. People also use the term Zion referring to heaven, a utopia, or simply a place where God's people dwell together.

While we as believers in the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ do well to bless and pray for Jerusalem (Zion) as instructed (Genesis 12:3) we as a Body are also to be praying for ourselves and fellow believers as this Zion today! 

As David prayed for the will of God in his city and for God's "wall of protection", we too need to pray for not simply our church, but our cities! Lord knows we need God's hand! We not only must pray, but act upon God's will.

Joining political movements and cultural activities is one thing. However, all or many are not Christ-centered or even beneficial for all. Our churches are either racially divided or totally ignore the socio-economic struggles. We must put more emphasis on a biblio-centric civic mindset based upon God's will and His Words, not the words of men! We cannot ignore society as if we live in a protective bubble. 

CHRISTians must be be CHRISTian activists, politicians, business leaders, teachers, parents, etc. We must speak biblically and teach Truth. As much as we need evangelists, we also need everyday CHRISTians to be unashamedly CHRSTian in public. Our cities need SALT and LIGHT as never before!
