Why Did Jesus Fast?

Then Jesus was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil. And when He had fasted forty days and forty nights, afterward He was hungry. Now when the tempter came to Him, he said, "If You are the Son of God, command that these stones become bread." (Matthew 4:1-3)
So why do we even have Lent? Is is a celebration? Is it time for simply giving up so we can go right back to something forty days later? Why after all, did Jesus fast? Was it for Himself, for us, or for Satan to try once again to thwart His plans for our salvation? As we progress through the Lenten Season, let's focus upon "why" we do things and not simply doing them to do them!

It explains how the forty days of Lent are being used the right way. It is very nice to see how we can do the forty days of Lent properly.

We fast to realize that there are some things we don't need. We only need Jesus.✝️✝️✝️💖

To my young people . . .Enjoy life with restraint

Rejoice, O young man, in your youth, and let your heart cheer you in the days of your youth; walk in the ways of your heart and in the sigh...
