Then Jesus was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil. And when He had fasted forty days and forty nights, afterward He was hungry. Now when the tempter came to Him, he said, "If You are the Son of God, command that these stones become bread." (Matthew 4:1-3)So why do we even have Lent? Is is a celebration? Is it time for simply giving up so we can go right back to something forty days later? Why after all, did Jesus fast? Was it for Himself, for us, or for Satan to try once again to thwart His plans for our salvation? As we progress through the Lenten Season, let's focus upon "why" we do things and not simply doing them to do them!
"In the Beginning", the daily REMINDER from The Carroll Outreach Mission (formerly The Sparrows' Nest or TSN), is intended to jump start your day with the Lord. The Bible opens up with , "In the beginning, God..." It is our prayer that you will use this tool to begin or "restart" your day with the Lord! Only what we do for Him will last in the end!

It explains how the forty days of Lent are being used the right way. It is very nice to see how we can do the forty days of Lent properly.
This an interesting question.
We fast to realize that there are some things we don't need. We only need Jesus.✝️✝️✝️💖
