give Him away

The beginning of the good news about Jesus the Messiah, the Son of God,as it is written in Isaiah the prophet:“I will send my messenger ahead of you, who will prepare your way a voice of one calling in the wilderness,‘Prepare the way for the Lord, make straight paths for him.’”
(Mark 1:1-3 Imagine being the one to introduce Christ to the world. This is who John the Baptist was. Ias his job to introduce the world to the Savior . . . and then step out of the way and allow Christ to take over. Are we not the opening act for Jesus in our small world? As disciples of Jesus Christ, is it not our job to introduce folks to Christ and then allow Him to move in their lives? Are we not the modern-day messengers? We have been chosen to carry the invitation to those whom we meet daily . . . our family, our friends, neighbors, co-workers, even strangers in the mall and at the gas station pumps. It is not enough to know Jesus, we must give Him away!
