03 13 08 SO INVOLVED IN ME
“However, fear the Lord and serve him faithfully with all your heart.
Just look at the great things he has done for you!”
(1Samuel 12:24 NET)
As the prophet Samuel interceded for the people, he reminded them of God’s grace. Even though we sin, it’s no reason to run from God, but to run to Him! With contrite heart and a broken spirit, we scramble to DADDY and plead for His mercy. He is waiting with outstretched arms and a loving embrace to heal us and comfort our sick heart.
Samuel reminds the people of all God has done: all of His promises fulfilled. It’s the same with us. We get SO INVOLVED IN ME, that we lose track of Him. We get so sidetracked it’s difficult to get back on the right path at times. It’s easier to keep straying. But we must make the difficult and often embarrassing turn to get back in line with DADDY’s plan for us. Repentance is a 180 degree turn away from sin and back facing God!
There is no better remedy for sin than a re-commitment to serve God fully, with our entire heart, mind, and soul. There can be no middle ground. We either go forward or backward. We know what the enemy offers us with sin: deceit, lies, pain, and separation from God. We also know the grace offered by our Father through the blood of Christ: forgiveness, healing, cleansing, renewal, and fellowship.
So let’s have a reverent fear for the Lord. Let’s serve Him faithfully and diligently. Let’s give no idle time to the devil. Remember what God has done for us and the promises yet to come! He is our hope! He is our salvation!! He is our all in all!!!
"In the Beginning", the daily REMINDER from The Carroll Outreach Mission (formerly The Sparrows' Nest or TSN), is intended to jump start your day with the Lord. The Bible opens up with , "In the beginning, God..." It is our prayer that you will use this tool to begin or "restart" your day with the Lord! Only what we do for Him will last in the end!
