Honoring Black HIStory '23.... teamwork and unselfishness

For many, as the weather changes so do the sports seasons. The Super Bowl has been decided and Spring Training news fills the sports headlines. The sounds of bats, balls, and leather gloves is in the air. "Play ball" will soon be heard on playgrounds, on school fields and in stadiums around the world. It is baseball season!!!!

While individuals will achieve great statistics and reach stated goals, whether we are athletes or not, Paul gives us all some sage advice for success . . .

Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves. Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others. Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus . . . (Philippians 2:3-5)

What a great example of this from Olympian Brittany Bowe:(https://www.latimes.com/sports/olympics/story/2022-02-14/brittany-bowe-speedskating-gold-winter-olympics) This allowed teammate Erin Jackson to earn her spot as a gold medalist in the '22 olympics.

Honoring Black HIStory, we also honor teamwork and unselfishness!

We all are held accountable for all we do . . .

Even a child is known by his deeds, whether what he does is pure and right. The hearing ear and the seeing eye, the Lord has made them both....
