live generously

What does it look like to live generously? We are called to live as Jesus lived . . . generously. After all, He gave everything so we could have eternal life with Him. He told us to freely give:

And as you go, preach, saying, ‘The kingdom of heaven is at hand.’ Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out demons. Freely you have received, freely give. Provide neither gold nor silver nor copper in your money belts, nor bag for your journey, nor two tunics, nor sandals, nor staffs; for a worker is worthy of his food. (Matthew 10:7-10)

Nothing we have really belongs to us now that we belong to Jesus. So what are we holding on to anyway? Even our very life is in His hands! Being kind is one thing, but living generously is living a life out of love for God and others.

Let's try that today and in the final days leading up to the Resurrection celebration. Just maybe it will become a lifestyle of living generously!

We all are held accountable for all we do . . .

Even a child is known by his deeds, whether what he does is pure and right. The hearing ear and the seeing eye, the Lord has made them both....
