Missions is not a certain trip we may take or support, but a lifetime investment for the Christ follower! We do not simply support someone once and say we have done our mission work. We just don't commit to one short-term trip in our life time and check off the mission box. Missions is a commitment to fulfill the Great Commission. (Matthew 28:18-20) It is an obedient response to God's command!
Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain. (1 Corinthians 15:58)
While I realize every believer is not gifted in evangelism or called to serve full-time in the mission field, either locally or away from "home", missions is still to be supported, prayed for, and encouraged. Some go, some pray, and others support as called, but we all respond in obedience! No one is exempt. It is a believer's basic exercise routine!
