Walking by fear or faith?
They were on their way up to Jerusalem, with Jesus leading the way, and the disciples were astonished, while those who followed were afraid. (Mark 10:32)
Who are we following? How are we following them? Are we being led around as blind leading the blind, depending upon the latest news, forecasts, or trends? Are we simply throwing away our lives on, can't miss odds, concrete locks, parlays and propositions offered by the world?
In an uncertain time, with a fearful and not-to-clear future, it is safe to allow the One who has been to the future and back to guide us. Jesus followed the leading of the Father despite human fear and a dangerous future.
I am asking God to lead me during these challenging days. What about you? Do you believe the words of the psalmist?
The Lord makes firm the steps of the one who delights in him;
24 though he may stumble, he will not fall, for the Lord upholds him with his hand. (Psalm 37:23-24)
