Do it . . . . Don't do it? . . . Yes or no? . . . Right or wrong? . . . Acceptable or unacceptable? . . . These are the daily struggles we face as born again believers today.No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it.(1 Corinthians 10:13)
Most times, we KNOW the right thing to do. However, there is that little voice inside that asks the question, "Are you sure about that?"
God has one response to the temptation we face: RUN!
Flee also youthful lusts; but pursue righteousness, faith, love, peace with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart. But avoid foolish and ignorant disputes, knowing that they generate strife. And a servant of the Lord must not quarrel but be gentle to all, able to teach, patient.... (2 Timothy 2:22--24)God always gives us a way out! Avoid the foolish temptations of this world. How? . . . by pursuing the things of God! Protect yourself. Set up barriers. We must know our weaknesses and strengths as well as those of the enemy.
Be ready to fight but also be ready to RUN!
