Forgive and Forget . . .God's Way

Then Samuel took a stone and set it up between Mizpah and Shen, and called its name Ebenezer, saying, “Thus far the Lordhas helped us.” So the Philistines were subdued, and they did not come anymore into the territory of Israel. And the hand of the Lord was against the Philistines all the days of Samuel. (1 Samuel 7:12-13)

Forgiven and Forgotten  . . . . Have we forgotten how the Lord has forgiven us time afte time? Where is our Ebenezer? God is willing to forgive us every time we come to Him, but we continue to fall back into sin, even after saying, "I'll never do that again!"

We promise to never forget . . . but we do.
We promise to never go back . . . but we do.
But God keeps His promises . . . He is longsuffering toward us. (2 Peter 3:9)

He not only forgets, but forgives!
