You therefore must endure hardship as a good soldier of Jesus Christ. No one engaged in warfare entangles himself with the affairs of this life, that he may please him who enlisted him as a soldier. And also if anyone competes in athletics, he is not crowned unless he competes according to the rules. The hardworking farmer must be first to partake of the crops. Consider what I say, and may the Lord give you understanding in all things.(2 Timothy 2:3-7)As believers in this ever changing and compromising world, we must remain consistent and constant in the Word. As a soldier remains faithful to his leader and fellow soldiers despite the challenges, we too must persevere. Many times the strength must come from within . . . from the Holy Spirit. There may not be much encouragement from those around us! As Peter fell in his own strength, we too will fall unless we totally depend upon the Lord (Ephesians 6:10). Expect challenges. Don't be surprised when confrontation occurs. Yet stand . . .(Romans 8:37)
"In the Beginning", the daily REMINDER from The Carroll Outreach Mission (formerly The Sparrows' Nest or TSN), is intended to jump start your day with the Lord. The Bible opens up with , "In the beginning, God..." It is our prayer that you will use this tool to begin or "restart" your day with the Lord! Only what we do for Him will last in the end!
