The scribes and the Pharisees sit in Moses' seat. Therefore whatever they tell you to observe, that observe and do, but do NOT do according to their works; for they say, and do not do. . . . But all their works they do to be seen by men. . . . But WOE to you scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites!(Matthew 23:2-13)Do we teach, preach and tell others how the Bible instructs us yet we do not follow our own beliefs and teaching? Do we say " Do as I say, not as I do"? Woe to you and me as well! Young people learn more by example than by instruction. That's been my experience as a coach, teacher, and mentor for the past thirty-five years or so. During this Lenten Season, let's give up the phoniness and live a life of "example". Perhaps it will rub off for the entire year!
