Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God.? Whoever, therefore, wants to be a friend of world makes himself an enemy of God. Or do you think that the Scripture says in vain, "The Spirit who dwells in us yearns jealously"? But He gives more grace. Therefore He says, "God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble."(James 4:4-6)This is a discussion I am sure I will have more than a few hundred times with my teen son and other teens over the next few months and years! Man, I would not want to be young today! So many choices, but even more life-changing choices for the teens who are trying and striving to please the Lord and to understand the difference between the world and the Lord. While I cannot bear to see them fail, they must make their own choices as they grow. Life is about choices and learning from them. We cannot keep our kids in a CHRISTian bubble and expect them to mature and grow. They never will. We must shoot them out as arrows from our quiver.(Psalm 127) We must send them out prepared and allow God to chisel away at them. We must always be there to coach'em up if needed as well. They will not be perfect even as we are not. They will not always succeed. This is the true test of a mature believer, I believe; how well do we bounce back from failure and how well do we handle successes? www.tsninthebeginning.blogspot.com
"In the Beginning", the daily REMINDER from The Carroll Outreach Mission (formerly The Sparrows' Nest or TSN), is intended to jump start your day with the Lord. The Bible opens up with , "In the beginning, God..." It is our prayer that you will use this tool to begin or "restart" your day with the Lord! Only what we do for Him will last in the end!
