Through His Eyes

For none of us lives to himself and no one dies to himself. For if we live, we live to the Lord; and if we die, we die to the Lord. Therefore, if we live or die, we are the Lord's. . . . For we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ . . . (Romans 14:8-10)

Our lives are not our own. We all have heard that before I am sure. But even as we go into a work week after celebrating the life of Rev. Dr. King ( don't forget the REVEREND part!), it is a good reminder to us all to realize we are not living unto ourselves! Not only are we laying the groundwork for our young people to come, but we are living for the Lord. Every thought, every plan, every action, is in front of our Lord's eyes.

Rev. King could have chosen to follow the lead of others in the 1960's. Rather, he chose to change things in a more Christ-like manner. He chose to love all people and seek freedoms for all those who were oppressed and discriminated. He valued all life. Above all, he valued the Lord.

What would life be like today if we lived and breathed every moment to to please our Savior rather than being politically or ethnically correct? How differently would we treat others if we saw ourselves in their eyes? How differently would we view ourselves if we knew what others thought of us? How many more would know Christ if His character flowed from us?
