Character Counts!

But also for this very reason (being called by God), giving all diligence, add to your faith VIRTUE, to virtue KNOWLEDGE, to knowledge SELF, to self -control PERSEVERENCE, to perseverance GODLINESS, to Godliness BROTHERLY KINDNESS, to and brotherly kindness LOVE. For if these things are yours and abound, you will be neither barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. For he who lacks these things is shortsighted, even to blindness, and has forgotten that he was cleansed from his old sin. . . . Make your call and election sure . . . For this reason I will not be negligent to remind you always of these things . . .   (2 Peter 1:5-12)

Once saved by His grace, we still have some work to do. We do not work to become forgiven but we do work to build upon our faith and to labor for the Lord so others may come to know Him. The biggest way for others to see Christ in us is in our character. We should grow in the FRUIT-of-the-Spirit: if in fact we are indwelled by that very same Spirit!  

How we conduct ourselves both publically and privately reflects who we are and to Whom we identify. Do folks identify us with Christ . . . The Messiah . . . The Soon-coming King or do we line up with the rest of the world?
