For though I am absent from you in body, I am present with you in spirit and delight to see how disciplined you are and how firm your faith in Christ is. (Colossians 2:5)
Paul is speaking as a father here to the believers in Colossi. Though he is not present with them, he has heard of their steadfast faith despite false teachings in the city. Can that be said of us today?
Many of us face much in the way of false teaching, casusl christianity, and lack of committment to the teachings of the Bible. We rely upon others to tell us the Word rather than study it for ourselves. No wonder we stray!
In a day when we may hear anything and everything, we must know His Word for
ourselves! We may not always be around strong believers to keep us accountable. We may have to be the one to show the Truth! Can God count upon us to be faithful? Can He count upon us to be
the example of true CHRISTianity?
We have the freedom to choose . . . the freedom to live out our faith for all to see!
