Dear friends, let us love one another, because love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born again because of what God has done. That person knows God. Anyone who does not love does not know God, because God is love. How did God show his love for us? He sent his one and only Son into the world. He sent him so we could receive life through him. What is love? It is not that we loved God. It is that he loved us and sent his Son to give his life to pay for our sins. Dear friends, since God loved us that much, we should also love one another. No one has ever seen God. But if we love one another, God lives in us. His love is made complete in us. (1 John 4:7-12)
So many say they are "
in love" today. However, not nearly as many will say that they have a relationship with God. To say we are
in love with anyone is really impossible if we do not know God personally!
God
is love.(1 John 4:16)He is the
definition of love. He is the
author of love. He
exemplifies love.
True love comes from God and no one else!
The Gospel frees us as individuals to
completely love . . . without pretense. Love is given with
nothing expected in return. Love sacrifices without desiring a
thank you.Love is
perfected in God. Love is
in God but are we
in love with Him?
