For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline. So do not be ashamed of the testimony about our Lord or of me his prisoner. Rather, join with me in suffering for the gospel, by the power of God.(2 Timothy 1:7-8)
Power is a good thing to possess . . . if used corretly!
Power under control (meekness) is one of the things the Holy Spirit gives to every believer if we choose to use it. Not power to
abuse,
enslave or
belittle, but power to
love others, to
forgive others, to offer others a
second chance, to share with others the power of
Jesus Christ! To walk in the power of the Risen Savior is to walk in confidence
despite struggles,
despite suffering, and
despite setbacks. It is the power of knowing that God has it all figured out!
