no cure for life

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God. For just as we share abundantly in the sufferings of Christ, so also our comfort abounds through Christ. If we are distressed, it is for your comfort and salvation; if we are comforted, it is for your comfort, which produces in you patient endurance of the same sufferings we suffer. And our hope for you is firm, because we know that just as you share in our sufferings, so also you share in our comfort. ( 2 Corinthians 1:3-7)
We all wonder why we have so many bad things happen to us. Of course, it would be nice if we could just go through life with no major illnesses, no financial struggles, and no family issues. However, that is not so! We do live in world ruled by lusts and greed and there are obviously illnesses and disease that go along with this life as well. No one is immune and there is no cure for life!
But there is a Comforter . . .(John 14:16-26)
We have all the help we need in order to cope in Jesus. He has given us a second chance at life by His blood. He has cleansed us from the penalty of sin. He has even promised us abundant life. Jesus promised to send every believer the Holy Spirit to reside within each one of us as our personal assistant going through life. So why has He done all this?
“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” (John 16:33)
Yes, there WILL be troubles. We will suffer in life. However, that suffering also allows and equips us to help others through. Just as Christ was with us, we can be with others in their time of need. We can actually learn from our struggles and even trust God all the more! We relate to others' hurts and to the sufferings of Jesus Himself! Yes bad things will happen. However, we have been warned . . . there is no cure for life's struggles but there is a good reason for them. It is to draw closer to one another and to our Father . . . and we all look forward to that One Day when we suffer no more. . . .
