To Know God . . .

Now this is eternal life: that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent.

(John 17:3)

What does it mean to know God? Many claim to be a Christian. Even more believe that there is a God. But to know God . . . ?

We know that Jesus says one must be born again (John 3:3). We also know that to follow Christ, one must deny his personal desires and take up the cross. (Matthew 16:24-25) But still, what does it look like to know God?

It is personal. It is sacrificial. It is not about me, but others. It is knowing who one is (a sinner) and seeing the need for a Savior (Jesus Christ). In a world of get rich quick, lose weight easy, and be happy now schemes, there is still only one way to know God . . . that is through Jesus!

Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
