For the grace of God has appeared that offers salvation to all people. It teaches us to say “No” to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age, while we wait for the blessed hope—the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ . . .(Titus 2:11-14)
Grace allows the believer to share Christ with others, rather than shun them or ignore them. Grace allows the Christ-follower to fleee from evil and live under the control of the Spirit of God, ignoring the lusts of our flesh. Grace allows us to live in anticipation of the return of our Savior rather than focusing on the negativity and depravity of the present world. Grace allows us to run in the proper lane of our lives as opposed to being tossed and pulled and pushed by every passing fancy of life.
Grace, having what we do not deserve because of the love and sacrifice of Jesus Christ, allows the believer tp have hope in the midst of hopelessness. It allows us to persevere to the finish line. May we all echo Paul's words one day . . .
I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day . . . and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing.
(2 Timothy 4:7-8)
Run in the proper lane. . . the one leading to our Savior!
