"I had heard about you before, but now I have seen you with my own eyes.
(Psalm 42:5 NLT)
Job had heard of God, but now he is experiencing Him first hand. He is seeing the love, majesty, mercy, and power of God. Though Job was a man of intense integrity before his encounters with God, now he was even more honorable as a result. God indeed has all things planned for our good. IMAGINE seeing God as Job did?
This kind of relationship is forged through tough times. It develops as a dependence upon God for our very existence. The more we think we have on our own strength; cars, homes, jobs, relationships, the less we depend upon God. IMAGINE depending upon the Lord for the essential things in life…food, money, clothing, mortgage, health. The less we have the more we need God, it seems. Why does it have to be that way? The fact is that God supplies it all.
IMAGINE living this way. IMAGINE the intimate relationship between a child and Father. This is how God imagined it when He created us. Praise God for the good times. Praise God for the struggles. Praise God for the suffering. Praise God for the relationship with Him…..to be able to really experience Him. Daniel had it. Joseph had it. Job had it. IMAGINE if you and I knew God so well!
"In the Beginning", the daily REMINDER from The Carroll Outreach Mission (formerly The Sparrows' Nest or TSN), is intended to jump start your day with the Lord. The Bible opens up with , "In the beginning, God..." It is our prayer that you will use this tool to begin or "restart" your day with the Lord! Only what we do for Him will last in the end!
