Count it ALL joy

Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness  . . . . If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given to him. But let him ask in faith, with no doubting.” (James 1:2-6)

James does not say here to count some things joy in our lives . . . he clearly says to "count it all joy"! And what are to we count as joy . . . trials, tests of faith, challenges! He doesn't even say to count the good times as joy. . . . that's easy!

I must admit, this takes practice . . . deliberate practice! It is not normal to be joyful during these challenging times. We are separated from family and friends. We have had to face severe illnesses and the passing of loved ones. Virtual learning has not always been a joy for students, parents, or teachers! Yet James gives us the answer as to how to deal with it all . . . seek God!

God is waiting and willing to share His wisdom with us to get through these days. Nothing is too hard for Him! (Jeremiah 32:27)However, we must ask knowing God knows what is best and then accepting His advice and carrying it out. We cannot keep doubting and trying to do it all on our own!

With all the trials we are facing, we should be filled with joy knowing God is right in the middle of it all ready to help!

We all are held accountable for all we do . . .

Even a child is known by his deeds, whether what he does is pure and right. The hearing ear and the seeing eye, the Lord has made them both....
