Born to Die . . .So We Could Live!

Here is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance: Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners—of whom I am the worst. But for that very reason I was shown mercy so that in me, the worst of sinners, Christ Jesus might display his immense patience as an example for those who would believe in him and receive eternal life Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory for ever and ever. Amen. (1 Timothy 1:15-17)

Jesus was born to die . . .for you and me to have a chance to live! While we focus on the Baby Jesus this Season, we must remember that without His death (and resurrection), we would have no life! The gifts the Magi presented told a story we often miss: gold, frankincense and myrrh (an embalming spice) represent a king, a deity, and death! 😔

But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. (Romans 5:8)

So let's remember that as innocent as the Baby Jesus was and as glorious as the occasion was, it all would lead to a brutal death on our behalf. While we were yet sinners, Jesus came into this world, God with us, to die for our sins and to bring us to new life in Him in His resurrection!

We all are held accountable for all we do . . .

Even a child is known by his deeds, whether what he does is pure and right. The hearing ear and the seeing eye, the Lord has made them both....
