Give us THIS day . . . .So it was that quails came up at evening and covered the camp, and in the morning the dew lay all around the camp. And when the layer of dew lifted, there, on the surface of the wilderness, was a small round substance, as fine as frost on the ground. So when the children of Israel saw it, they said to one another, “What is it?” For they did not know what it was. And Moses said to them, “This is the bread which the Lord has given you to eat. This is the thing which the Lord has commanded: ‘Let every man gather it according to each one’s need, one omer for each person, according to the number of persons; let every man take for thosewho are in his tent.’” (EXODUS 16:13-16)
Planning a trip requires much planning; lodging, travel, food, clothing, and if you are like my wife, a plan for every day! Rarely do we say, "Let's just go and see what happens!"
The Israelites had to do just that though . . .just go and go quickly. However, God was leading! Yet they complained about things so much they wished they were back in Egypt. (Exodus 16: 3)
Struggles of today will always seem worse than those of yesterday because they are new. Yesterday has been conquered. Can we at least trust God with the words Jesus suggested: "Give us this day our daily bread . . . ."(Matthew 6:11)
Lord, help me to trust You more . . . THIS day!
