Then Herod, when he saw that he was deceived by the wise men, was exceedingly angry; and he sent forth and put to death all the male children who were in Bethlehem and in all its districts, from two years old and under, according to the time which he had determined from the wise men. Then was fulfilled what was spoken by Jeremiah the prophet, saying: “A voice was heard in Ramah, Lamentation, weeping, and great mourning, Rachel weeping for her children, Refusing to be comforted, Because they are no more.” (Matthew 2:16-18)Will we allow fear to cause us to choose wrongly or we call upon our faith to allow God to work in and through us?
"In the Beginning", the daily REMINDER from The Carroll Outreach Mission (formerly The Sparrows' Nest or TSN), is intended to jump start your day with the Lord. The Bible opens up with , "In the beginning, God..." It is our prayer that you will use this tool to begin or "restart" your day with the Lord! Only what we do for Him will last in the end!

Fear or Faith?
Fear or Faith?????
Strong fears can lead to major dangers and downfalls while strong faith can lead to major and lasting victories.
Consider King Herod . . . a descendent of Esau, an Edomite who was raised as a Jew and appointed "King of the Jews" by the Roman Senate around 40 B.C. Very insecure and fearful of losing his throne to a little baby . . . a BABY . . . he had all children two years and younger put to death in the vicinity of Bethlehem when he heard of a baby's birth! This little one threatened this mighty king! Just the thought of losing his throne in years to come changed HIStory. Yet the faith of a humble couple, Joseph and Mary, also changed HIStory, but for good!
