1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.(John 1:1)Since BEFORE anything was, God was and is . . . God, the Father, God the Son (the Word)and God the Spirit! God is a Spirit and that Spirit rules from heaven (the Father)and resides within every believer today (the Holy Spirit). The Son(the Word) which dwelt among us (John 1:14) was also with God "in the beginning" (Genesis 1:1-3)as God "spoke" the world (words)into existence! These words make our faith unique. While many believe in "a" God or God, not all believe that Jesus IS God and always has been God. We hold to this faith. (1 John 4:1-6) His sacrificial death upon the cross and resurrection from the dead frees us from sin and eternal death. Do not be swayed by the cultural pressures to believe a more casual God or less restrictive God. He does not change by the times. He is still Holy God and we are still accountable to His words. When Jesus came in the flesh the apostle John says the world did not recognize Him or comprehend Him. So it is today! Stand upon your faith!
"In the Beginning", the daily REMINDER from The Carroll Outreach Mission (formerly The Sparrows' Nest or TSN), is intended to jump start your day with the Lord. The Bible opens up with , "In the beginning, God..." It is our prayer that you will use this tool to begin or "restart" your day with the Lord! Only what we do for Him will last in the end!
