HIGH ALERT: An Escape Plan

Now godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out. And having food and clothing, with these we shall be content. But those who desire to be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and harmful lusts which drown men in destruction and perdition. For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil, for which some have strayed from the faith in their greediness, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows. But you, O man of God, FLEE THESE THINGS and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, gentleness. (1 Timothy 6:6-11)
Every office building, school, building, mall, even our homes should have an escape plan in case of emergency. I vividly remember after 9-11, families were encouraged to have not only a plan to escape any dangers, but also to have contacts around the nation and world in order to connect with family members in case of disaster. We were even told to have emergency food and survival packs for up to a week's use prepared and packed for any such emergencies. Those were days of HIGH ALERT! We are living in dangerous days today . . . yet I am talking about spiritually dangerous days. We are being told that wrong is right and right is wrong. What was once GOSPEL TRUTH is now popularized as close-minded or simply not relevant anymore. One cannot even believe everything we hear in our churches, on CHRISTIan radio, or in "gospel" music. We must be accountable for our own actions! Paul offers an ESCAPE PLAN when we find ourselves tempted by these lies and snares . . . Dont consider. Don't contemplate. Don't try it out. FLEE!!!!! RUN!!!! RUN F A S T!!! If one sees a hand grenade at their feet, they don't watch it and see what will happen. They don't pick it up and consider whether it will explode or not. One does not stay in a burning building and wait and see how hot it will become before leaving. So what is YOUR "Escape Plan" from sin and it's snares? Consider Paul' words carefully . . . .
