Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light. (Matthew 11:28-30)
One of my favorite "internet pastors", Pastor Max Lucado, offers these words concerning the passages above from Jesus:
"Don’t we need to learn? We know so much, and yet we know so little. The age of information is the age of confusion: much know-how, hardly any know-why."
What if teachers taught with such humbleness and grace? What if students came to school with this attitude toward their teachers? What if parents and children alike had this kind of attitude toward learning? What if we all trusted Jesus as the One Who knows us best and wants what is best for us?
Is it possible to make our homes, our schools, our churches places of such inviting environments that we all feel welcomed . . . to learn from the Master while sharing all He has taught us with those who desire to know?
