The preparations of the heart belong to man, but the answer of the tongue is from the Lord. All the ways of a man are pure in his own eyes, but the Lord weighs the spirits. Commit your works to the Lord, and your thoughts will be established. (Proverbs 16:1-3)As another school year comes to a close and we celebrate promotions, graduations, and other achievements, be wary! We all see success according to our own criteria. God, however, has a much different criteria than we do! His ways are NOT our ways nor are His thoughts our thoughts and plans. We have to be careful, especially in today's world, not to be caught up in what the world calls "success"! While Dean's List, 4.0 G.P.A., Honor Roll, and "Top of the Class" are all great achievements, we must also recognize the work God is doing in the hearts of our children and in us as well. God works in and through every student and teacher as long as we give Him access. Despite our level of "success", He just might be working out a future pastor, missionary, doctor, even a teacher! We can never sell God short, nor His work within any of His children! Give all the lessons, all the studies, all the planning, all the awards and even all the short-comings to God: allow Him to have the final say! (Romans 8:28) www.tsninthebeginning.blogspot.com
"In the Beginning", the daily REMINDER from The Carroll Outreach Mission (formerly The Sparrows' Nest or TSN), is intended to jump start your day with the Lord. The Bible opens up with , "In the beginning, God..." It is our prayer that you will use this tool to begin or "restart" your day with the Lord! Only what we do for Him will last in the end!
