Prepare for the Future right NOW!

And as it was in the days of Noah, so it will be also in the days of the Son of Man: They ate, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, and the flood came and destroyed them: likewise as it was also in the day that Lot went out of Sodom. . . Even so will it be in the day when the Son of Man is revealed . . . Whoever seeks to save his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life will preserve it. . . . Two men will be in the field: one will be taken and the other left. (Luke 17:26-36)
The days of Noah . . . He warned folks of the coming rains, yet no one took Him seriously. The days of Lot . . . Folks were warned to pack up and leave the city, yet only a handful took the warning and left. How many warnings, sign, disasters, fulfilled prophecies do we need before folks take the bible seriously. Even in our churches and families today, people are going about everyday life like there is no tomorrow, at least not the "tomorrow" of which the bible speaks. Oh for sure, we live for summer vacation, retirement, or even some "live for their children and grandchildren". We plan for next week, next year, the next generation by building up our retirement plans and trust funds. However, there is much more to life than this world! Who will be ready when He returns? Are we living a life for today, tomorrow, or eternity? Do we not see the forecast ahead? If we see incoming clouds, we prepare for a storm. If we hear news of snow, we rush to the store for eggs, bread, milk and water . . . and toilet tissue! Yet when we hear of the Day of the Lord, we take it lightly, as if it cannot happen today . . .NOW! We seem to have more pressing priorities in our daily lives. We must live expectant lives. We must anticipate and desire for Him to return! Like a child anticipating CHRISTmas morning or summer vacation, we should be counting down the days, wishing they would come sooner rather than later! Jesus is coming . . . and SOON!
