Striving to be perfect . . .under construction!

I am a CHRISTian so that means I am now holy . . . right?

Well, it means we have committed ourselves to be holy, yet we still have that nagging sin nature! So even if and when we fall short of God's holiness, we still desire to be holy . . . to be like Him. Being a CHRIST-follower means that we are following Him, desiring to be like Him, hating our sin and desiring Him more than anything!

 Therefore, since all these things (the earth and everything in it) will be dissolved, what manner of persons ought you to be in holy conduct and godliness, looking for and hastening the coming of the Day of God, because of which heavens will be dissolved, being on fire, and the elements will melt with fervent heat? Nevertheless we, according to His promise, look for new heavens and a new earth in which righteousness dwells.
