Knowing the Enemy, Knowing God

And Hezekiah received the letter from the hand of the messengers and read it, and Hezekiah went up to the house of the Lord, and spread it before the Lord. Then Hezekiah prayed before the Lord, and said, "O Lord God of Israel, the One who dwells between the cherubim, You are God, You alone, of all the kingdoms of the earth. You have made heaven and earth. Incline Your ear, O Lord, and hear; open Your eyes O Lord, and see; and hear the words of Sennacherib, which he has sent to reproach the Living God . . .therefore I will put a hook in your nose and My bridal in your lips, and I will turn you back by the way which you came. . . . For I will defend this city, to save it, for My own sake and for My servant David's sake. (2 Kings 19:14-34)

As we struggle, not just against flesh and blood, but also and more importantly against spiritual powers, we must search the Scriptures and see and experience how many of God's warriors faced these battles.

Here King Hezekiah was facing threats from a mighty force who had previously swept through towns and cities, destroying everything in his wake. But Sennacherib now faced a foe whom he had never fought before; not King Hezekiah, but GOD! King Hezekiah knew in Whom to turn.

God will not be mocked. He will not be disgraced. His children will be protected. When in battle, remember it is not our fight, but the Lord's.

Do all you can possibly do physically, but leave the rest to God. He has been, He is, and He will be VICTORIOUS!!!!

We need to let God fight the battles too big for us.

Praise God!
