Tradition or Tolerance?

Even a child makes himself known by his acts, by whether his conduct is pure and upright. (Proverbs 20:11)

Do not rebuke and older man, but exhort him as a father, younger men as brothers, older women as mothers, younger women as sisters, with all purity. . . Let the elders who rule be counted worthy of double honor, especially those who labor in word and doctrine . . . (1 Timothy 5:1-2,17)

Just a few thoughts today: what is God saying about respect / authority in these passages? Are we carrying these guidelines out in our lives? 

God's Word is still His Word!
