Got time?

When they got out on the beach they saw a charcoal fire ready with a fish placed on it, and bread. Jesus said, "Bring  some of the fish you have just now caught . . . Come have breakfast". . . (John 21:9-12)

We all need to get away. We find ourselves so caught up in the everyday things that we lose track of the little things . . . Yet the most important things. Even our relationship with the Lord, as precious as it is to many of us, becomes mundane and routine.

Here, as the disciples had gotten back to their routine of fishing, they still did not realize the Saviour had been risen. Jesus was alive! Yet the disciples were going about their routines. But Jesus interrupted their work with a simple suggestion . . . "Try the other side of the boat!"

Jesus then invites the disciples to a simple fish fry on the beach. "Let's sit down, eat, and have a conversation". Very simple. Very practical. Very needed!

Sometimes we miss Jesus in the simple things. Coffee in the early morning hours. . .  a simple walk with our spouse . . . the highway traffic jam . . . sleepless nights . . . yes, even a simple bbq on the deck (or on the beach as in this case).

Don't miss Jesus in the simple and mundane things in life. He knows we are tired, weary, hungry, even bored. But He cares and wants to talk to us about it . . . meet our needs!

Look around . . . is that Jesus calling us over to share a cup of coffee or a cool ice cream treat? Is that Him heating up the grill? Is Jesus sitting over there at the counter? I wonder what He is doing? Oh, He has a seat for me! He wants to spend time with me

Make time for Jesus . . . He is calling our name . . .

Let's face it, God wants us to be one . Jesus was clear in His High-Priest prayer before going to His death:  “I do not pray for these ...
