Child Centered

At that time the disciples came to Jesus. They asked him, “Then who is the most important person in the kingdom of heaven?”  Jesus called a little child over to him. He had the child stand among them.  Jesus said, “What I’m about to tell you is true. You need to change and become like little children. If you don’t, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.   Anyone who takes the humble position of this child is the most important in the kingdom of heaven. Anyone who welcomes a little child like this one in my name welcomes me. “What if someone causes one of these little ones who believe in me to sin? If they do, it would be better for them to have a large millstone hung around their neck and be drowned at the bottom of the sea. How terrible it will be for the world because of the things that cause people to sin! (Matthew 18:1-7)

What in the world are we teaching our children?

Parents, teachers, churches . . . listen to our Savior . . .

THE CHILDREN MATTER!

In order to understand the love of Jesus, we must have the innocence of a child, yet we are destroying their innocence! TV, video, music, texts . . . all the various media being leaked into their ears, eyes, and hearts is slowly destroying their hearts and minds. Since we are not around our kids like we should be, they are seeing and hearing things a child should never experience!

Yet we stand idly by and accept it as "this generation"! However, we have a Godly responsibility to teach, discipline, model, and provide the right tools and opportunities for our children to be different . . . to be Godly in an un-Godly world!

We need to change! We first must be humbled before God. We must reach out to our children . . . especially our teens. They will not seek us. They inwardly want our affection and attention, but we must pursue them!

It's not cool to like to hang out with parents and other "old folks". We must make our approach appealing, caring, loving. We must present God in the same way Jesus presented Himself . . . open, honest, sincere, caring, interested.

We have a responsibility to the next generation. God holds us accountable.

Are we about to drown or are we willing to jump in and save ourselves and our children?
