Let everyone be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God. Consequently, whoever rebels against the authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and those who do so will bring judgment on themselves. For rulers hold no terror for those who do right, but for those who do wrong. Do you want to be free from fear of the one in authority? Then do what is right and you will be commended. For the one in authority is God’s servant for your good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for rulers do not bear the sword for no reason. They are God’s servants, agents of wrath to bring punishment on the wrongdoer. Therefore, it is necessary to submit to the authorities, not only because of possible punishment but also as a matter of conscience.(Romans 13:1-5)
Now that election day 2014 has been completed and the votes have been tallied,
Who's in charge now? With so many claiming victory and calling for a shift in power from one party to another, do we realize there is still One who overrules? The prophet
Hosea wrote it this way:
My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children. (Hosea 4:6)
God still reigns from heaven and He allowed things to take place throughout our Nation last evening. Now it is my prayer that we all put this Nation and our leaders back into the hands of Almighty God that we all may
humble ourselves,
seek His face, and f
all upon our knees bowing to God's leadership!
I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, [and] giving of thanks, be made for all men . . . (1 Timothy 2:1-2)
