Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as elaborate hairstyles and the wearing of gold jewelry or fine clothes. Rather, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God’s sight. (1 Peter 3:3-4)
So many of us miss this.
God is after our hearts and we too should be ultimately concerned with our heart . . . and its desires!
Just why do we do things?
How we dress . . . the vehicles we drive . . . the neighborhoods in which we live . . . the label on our jackets and shoes . . . evn the location of our employment all reflect the desires of our heart.
Though Peter is addressing women in the passages above, we ALL can take a few lessons here. Our heart and the Spirit that controls it is reflected to others in all we do. Our heart moves us. It motivates us. Yet
the beauty of the heart can be extinguished by pride, selfishness, greed, and jealousy.
A quiet, simple, peaceful, livong, caring, unselfish, sacrificial, humble and CHRIST-like heart reflects the image of God.
Everything we do will reflect the love of God.
The beauty (or lack thereof) of the heart shows in decisions we make every day!
