“Don’t be alarmed,” he said. “You are looking for Jesus the Nazarene, who was crucified. But he has risen! He is not here! See the place where they had put him. 7 Go! Tell his disciples and Peter, ‘He is going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see him. It will be just as he told you.’” (Mark 16:6-7)Did Jesus really die? Did He really rise from the dead? Did He rise back to heaven in bodily form? Questions . . .questions . . .questions! But why? In a court of law, eyewitnesses provide evidence to the truth. So why do we not take the eyewitness accounts of so many concerning Jesus' life, death, and resurrection? Is is not just a matter of faith, but a matter of FACTS! Peter stated it.(2 Peter 1:16) Besides the Roman Seal, the empty tomb, an AWOL Roman soldier, and a 1.5 to 2 ton stone being rolled away with no one noticing, there were eyewitnesses to resurrection. We read of over 500 eyewitness physically seeing Jesus alive and well following the burial. (1 Corinthians 15:6) Then of course, we have the disciples; eleven of the original twelve died for their belief in Jesus! People do not die for a rumor, a fairytale, or a hope. They died for what they believe in! Read the book of John. He was the closest to Jesus. He wrote of the FACT that the disciples saw Jesus' hands and side and witnessed the wounds close up. (John 20:20)It no doubt encouraged them and as they received the Holy Spirit(Acts 2:4)they went out and taught, testified, and toiled for the growth of the Church. They died doing just that! So no longer doubt . . . It is a matter of FACTS!
